ARTORIUS COLT
A powerful and athletic colt with an exceptional pedigree, sired by Artorius and out of Noble Creed, who will be trained by the dynamic Bjorn Baker.
Artorius was a first-class racehorse, earning $2.2million in prizemoney over his racing career. In just his third career start he won the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes, beating Anamoe by 2.5 lengths and Hitotsu by 5 lengths. As a 3YO he contested all of the stallion-making Group 1 races, placing in the Golden Rose, the Caulfield Guineas and the Coolmore Stud Stakes. He then travelled to the UK, where he placed in the Platinum Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot and the July Cup at Newmarket.
Artorius returned to Australia and then, as a 4YO, he won the Group 1 WFA Canterbury Stakes, defeating the 10-time Group 1 winning Champion Imperatriz in spectacular fashion.
Like his grandsire Redoute’s Choice, Artorius was an elite sprinter who showed remarkable consistency and Group 1 form throughout his racing career.
The pedigree page of this colt is littered with early-running black-type performers who have raced in all the major 2YO races – quality horses such as Prized Icon, Romantic Moon, Zutara and Salade.
He is out of the talented sprinter Noble Creed, a daughter of Lonhro, the sire of Pierro, Denman, Kementari and Exosphere and the broodmare sire of Golden Mile, Zapateo and Osborne Bulls. As a broodmare, Noble Creed has an enviable 100% winners to runners record with 3 foals to race for 3 winners (including a recent debut winner).
This colt’s sire-line has already proven to be highly successful with this family, having produced the multiple Group 1 performer Lucky With You who has earned HK$4.1million to date.
The colt is BOBS eligible and nominated for the lifetime $20.1million Magic Millions Race Series and the $5million Golden Slipper.
